The Olympians women’s volleyball team is on a roll, racking up four consecutive wins since their nail-biting five-set loss to Long Beach City College. This impressive streak includes another thrilling five-set victory (23-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-18, 15-9) against Palomar College last Friday.
With a 13-1 overall record and an unblemished 6-0 conference record, the Olympians sit atop the PCAC standings. They are followed by MiraCosta College (5-1) and Grossmont College (4-2). The team currently holds the #2 ranking in Southern California and a #5 ranking in the state, trailing only San Joaquin Delta, Long Beach City College, Fresno City College, and American River College.
In 14 matches, the team has averaged 11.64 kills, 1.49 blocks, and 15.34 digs per set
Jaiden Mojica's play has earned her a #8 state ranking, with an impressive average of 9.21 assists per set (387 total assists).
Halen Kiefer leads the offensive charge with 137 kills (3.61 kills per set), 179 points, 32 service aces, and 11 digs. Bella Town is a close second with 106 kills (2.52 kills per set) and 119.5 points.
On the defensive front, Isabella Barrios leads the team with 12 solo blocks and 28 total blocks, while Bella Town has been a force at the net with 5 solo blocks and a team-leading 17 block assists.
The Olympians will look to extend their winning streak as they travel south of Interstate 805 to face Southwestern College today at 5:00 p.m.
