The spring season is nearing the end and summer is right around the corner.  With conference play finished and regional play in full force, only a handful of athletes remain in contention for the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Athlete-of-the-Week Award.

This week's winners come from San Diego Mesa College and Palomar College.  Mesa's Sydney Fortune and Palomar's Donovan Taylor earned the award after great performances at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Swimming and Diving Meet last week.

Fortune had an outstanding meet, finishing second in three separate events.  She finished second in the 200 Individual Medley, 100 Breaststroke and 200 Breaststroke in leading Mesa to a seventh place finish in the team competition.

Taylor earned the Men's Diver-of-the-Year after finishing first in the 3-meter competition and second in the 1-meter competition.  He earned 37 individual points for his efforts in helping the Comets to a seventh place finish in team competition.
