The 2018 swimming and diving season got underway at the Waterman Festival this weekend and included a first day Pentathlon and a second day invitational meet.

Mesa’s Sam Schmidt won the 5-event Pentathlon, besting 68 other competitors with a combined total time of 3:07.20. Schmidt won the 50 Breaststroke and 100 IM events while Mesa teammates Julie Parsons won the 50 Backstroke and Andy Mill won the 50 Freestyle. Mesa team members finished 5^th through 8^th place; Andy Mill, Renee Lanswick, Anya Lavoie, and Julie Parsons.

During day 2 Mesa continued the winning with Anya Lavoie taking first in the 1000 Free, Sam Schmidt winning the 200 IM & 100 Breast, Andy Mill winning the 50 Free again and Julie Parsons finishing first in the 100 Backstroke

In the relay portion Mesa won all 4 relays they entered; 200 Medley Relay, 350 Backstroke Relay, 350 Breaststroke Relay and 350 Freestyle Relay.
