Mesa women win Chaffey Invitational

The Mesa women's swimming and diving team finished first at the Chaffey Invitational with 745 points to out distance Riverside and 10 other teams. Mesa swept all 3 free relays (200, 400, 800) and finished second in both Medley Relays (200, 400).

Mesa dominated in the freestyle events; winning the 50, 100, 200 and 500. In the 100 Free Mesa finished in the top 3 places. Anna Stahlak won 3 individual events (100, 200, 500 Free), Andy Mill won the 50 Free, finished 2nd in the 100 and 2nd in the 200 Free. Samantha Schmidt won the 200 IM and finished 3rd in the 100 Free and 3rd in the 100 Breast. Anya Lavoie finished in 2nd place in the 400 IM, 3rd in the 500 Free and 4th in the 200 Backstroke.

Victoriana Gonzalez finished 4th in three events; the 50 Free, 100 Fly and 200 Fly. Other contributors included Renee Lanswick who finished 5th in the 200 Breast, 7th in the 100 Breast and 8th in 50 Free.

Lauren Matthews finished in 5th place in the 200 Free while Ivanna Diaz placed 6th in the 200 Free and 8th in the 100 Backstroke.

Liz Sanchez won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
