Mesa swimmer honored as PCAC Athlete of the Week

Anna Stahlak, a sophomore out of Valhalla High School and a transfer from Cal State Bakersfield, helped Mesa to a second-place team finish at the Mt. SAC Invitational meet by winning two individual events and finishing third in another. Her performance was the difference as the Olympians outscored defending state team champion Orange Coast 434 to 427 for runner-up in the meet behind Sierra College.

Stahlak won the 100-yard freestyle in 52.83 and the 200 free in 1:53.74, both the fastest times in the state this season. She also swam 5:18.26 in finishing third in the 500 freestyle and was part of two winning relay teams, as well as the second-place team in the 400 freestyle relay.
