Mesa Women Second at Mt. SAC Invitational

The Mesa women's swimmers finished 2nd at the 32nd annual Mt. SAC Invitational this past weekend. The team finished behind Sierra College but ahead of defending state champion Orange Coast and 21 other teams. Anna Stahlak led the team with wins in 2 individual events (100-yard freestyle in 52.83 and 200 free in 1:53.74), both the fastest times in the state this season. She also swam 5:18.26 in finishing third in the 500 freestyle and was part of two winning relay teams, as well as the second-place team in the 400 freestyle relay. Mesa won the 200 Free Relay (Mill, Gonzalez, Schmidt, Stahlak) and the 800 Free Relay (Stahlak, Mill, Lavoie, Schmidt) with times that rank first in the state.

Other top individual performers included Andreanna Mill (1st 50 Free, 3rd 100 Free, 5th 200 Free, 5th 100 Back); Sam Schmidt (2nd place 1650 Free, 2nd place 500 Free, 3rd in 200 free); Victoriana Gonzalez (2nd 100 Fly, 3rd 200 Fly, 10th 50 Free); Anya Lavoie (4th 1650 Free, 11th 100 Breast)
