Season begins with Waterman Pentathlon and Relay meets

The Mesa women's swimming team placed 5 team members in the top 12 of the Waterman Pentathlon at the first meet of the season. Sam Schmidt was the top finisher for Mesa, placing 4th. She was followed by Andi Mill (6th), Renee Lanswick (9th), Victoriana Gonzalez (10th) and Anya Lavoie (12th).

The following day, at the Waterman Relays the women's team finished in 3rd place with 346 points. The team was paced by individual event winners Victoriana Gonzalez (50 Free) and Anya Lavoie (1000 Free) and captured the 350 Backstroke Relay (Carly DaCosta, Alejandra Martha, Anya Lavoie).

Other top finishes included Sam Schmidt (2nd 200 IM), Krista DeCima (3rd 50 Free), and a runner up finish by the 200 Medley Relay.
