2017 Swimming and Diving Season Outlook

The Mesa College women's swimming and diving team looks to recapture the conference championship this season after a runner-up finish in 2016. The team will be boosted by an influx of talented freshmen, two key transfers and some added depth. Returning swimmers include State qualifier Victoriana Gonzalez (100/200 Fly) as well as Krista DeCima, Abbey Johnson and Analise Voytilla.

Expectations are high for an incoming freshmen group that includes Andreanna Mill (sprints), Samantha Schmidt (mid-distance/IM) and Anya Lavoie (distance/IM), and Renee Lanswick (Breast/Sprints).

Transfers Anna Stahlak (CSU, Bakersfield) and 2016 State diving qualifier Elizabeth Sanchez (Grossmont) will battle for individual conference titles and compete at the State championships.

The Mesa women's swimming and diving teams have won 6 of the last 9 conference championships and have finished as high as 4th place at the State Championships.
