Soccer looks to rebound against Grossmont College

The San Diego Mesa College women's soccer team has had a challenging start to the 2024 season, with a current record of 1-5. Despite this, Head Coach Melissa Warner remains optimistic about the team's potential to turn the season around.

She emphasizes that the team's record does not accurately reflect its performance, stating, "The outcomes of the last few games have not been in our favor, but our team remains focused, and our goals we've set are still achievable."

Early in the season, the team faced tough competition, playing against some of the top teams in the state. Coach Warner acknowledges the need for improvement, particularly in capitalizing on scoring opportunities. She notes that the team has been playing well and maintaining possession but has struggled to convert chances into goals.

The team will host Grossmont College today at 4:00 p.m., hoping to turn their season around after a 4-0 victory over the Griffins in their last meeting.
