WACO, Texas -- Brittany Garrido of University of the Southwest (N.M.) earned the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week honor for Sept. 11-17.
Garrido produced a pair of shutouts for the unbeaten Mustangs last week. The junior goalkeeper stopped four shots in a 3-0 victory over Wayland Baptist University (Texas) and made four saves to preserve a 4-0 defeat of Paul Quinn College (Texas). Garrido hasn't allowed a goal this season while leading USW to a 6-0 record. The San Diego native leads the conference with a perfect goals against average.
