Mesa Women’s Basketball extends winning streak to 3 with triumph over Porterville College

The San Diego Mesa College women's basketball team defeated Porterville College 72-55 on Thursday bringing the Olympians overall record to 4-3. This marks the third consecutive win for the Olympians after defeating Chaffey College 72-37 followed by a strong 62-56 victory against Cypress College. 

Sophomore Mackenzie Purnell led the Olympians with 14 points, connecting on four three-pointers and 2 steals. Freshman Alivia Gillespie from Oceanside High School contributed 11 points and was a perfect 3 of 3 from the three-point line. Freshman Kendal Alloway scored 9 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Alethze Marquez also contributed with 9 rebounds and 9 points. Freshman Rayleen Moreno impressed with 8 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals.

The Olympians will travel to Santa Ana College to take on Pasadena City College on Friday, December 1.
