San Diego, CA – The 2021-22 women’s and men’s basketball season is heading into the end of things, teams are playing busy schedules due to postponements or cancellations from earlier on in the season. After all games coming to an end this following week, one of San Diego Mesa’s student-athletes was awarded Athlete of the Week! 

Freshman, Emma Fitzgerald, “is part of a Mesa squad that went 3-0 for the week to stay within an eyelash of Palomar College in the PCAC standings.  Fitzgerald was consistent throughout the week, scoring 33 points with 29 rebounds and 13 assists in three games.  Her biggest performance came against Cuyamaca College when she recorded a triple-double, finishing with 13 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists” (PCAC).
