Mesa Softball Focused on Every Pitch With Playoffs Near

Currently ranked twelfth according to their rating percentage index (RPI), the San Diego Mesa College softball team must continue to play well to secure a playoff berth, as the top eighteen teams qualify.

With their current 14-9 record and 4-2 conference standing, head coach Jaclyn Guidi believes this team has the talent and determination to thrive in the playoffs as long as they continue to play unselfish and make sure that from here on out, every pitch counts. According to Guidi, the team's greatest strengths are their chemistry and selflessness. She adds, "I can say this is one of the top teams that I've coached since they all respect each other and are unselfish players."

The team must remain focused and compete at their highest level in the remaining regular season games. Offensively, the team is batting over .300 with on-base and slugging percentages over .400, demonstrating their ability to get on base and advance runners.

As the season reaches its most critical point, the team has shown they have the talent and determination to make a strong playoff run.  Now it is up to the players to continue this high level of play through the final games, and into the playoffs. If the team stays focused, they will be a force to be reckoned with.

Next up for the team is an important road game against conference opponent Southwestern College on Wednesday, March 27.
