In April of 2016, Ricketts was inducted into the SLO Marathon Hall of Fame for his contributions to the local running community in San Luis Obispo County

In December of 2013, Sean attended the USATF/IAAF Academy for Endurance Events at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA. The camp teaches and applies knowledge that indicates that a coach is not only highly experienced but has the knowledge to coach or instruct at the highest international levels of the track & field profession.

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR YOUR ATHLETES?
Coach Ricketts primary goal for the track and field and cross country programs at SD Mesa is to develop student-athletes as people, students, and athletes and to guide them to transfer to a four-year university in order to continue their athletic career, but most importantly complete their education and graduate from college.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COACH AT MESA COLLEGE?
SD Mesa College is where I developed, matured, and had a positive experience as a student-athlete. Here I was provided with an opportunity to learn from the best and transfer to a four-year university complete my undergraduate and graduate degrees.
