Track and field set to compete at PCAC Finals

The Olympian track and field teams are gearing up to compete at the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) Finals at Southwestern College tomorrow. Both men's and women's teams recently competed at the PCAC preliminaries.

In the PCAC preliminaries, which took place on Wednesday, the throws squad excelled, sweeping their events with remarkable performances. Kais Kimulis stood out with a remarkable throw of 14.21m 46'7.5 in the shot put. The jumps were equally impressive, with Balamber Iszold and Joe Forte hitting State A marks at 1.90m 6'2.75.

One admirable trait of Mesa College's track and field program is its consistency in competing annually for the state title and its emphasis on having the athletes at their best at year’s end. As the track and field season peaks during conference week, both teams are delivering exceptional performances, a testament to the coaching staff’s expertise. Preparation is a meticulous process that begins when the team members join. Head coach Sean Ricketts ensures a balanced workload tailored to their track schedule, aiming to achieve peak performance.

After the PCAC championships, the teams will participate in other events culminating in the 3C2A State Championships at Saddleback College on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
