Women's Beach Volleyball Rebounds With Three Straight Wins

After a brief slump, the women's beach volleyball team has found its rhythm again at an opportune time. With three consecutive wins, including two decisive victories over Grossmont College, the Olympians have regained sole possession of first place and are well-positioned to finish the season strong with positive momentum.

The team currently holds a record of twelve wins and three losses and remains undefeated in conference play at five wins and zero losses. Last Friday, the Olympians shut out Mount San Jacinto College 5-0 and are scheduled to face them again this coming Friday, April 5th at MiraCosta College. While the final score appears one-sided, Mount San Jacinto proved to be a formidable opponent. Three of the matches went the full three sets.

Myah Gomez and Kailyn Jager took the first set of their match 21-17 against Josephine Springer and Brooklyn Thomas but dropped the second 19-21. They were ultimately able to close out the match by capturing the third set 15-6.

At the number two line, Emily Eltrich and Victoria Goff captured the second and third sets of their match 21-7, 15-9 despite losing the first set 17-21 against Carley Kruse / Lauren Cummings.

In the number four slot, Mia Wettergren and Maria Coronado also had a competitive match. They won the first set 21-10 but dropped the second 19-21. They closed out the exciting third set with a score of 15-12.
