On Wednesday, the Olympians faced Irvine Valley College who arrived at Mesa College with an unblemished 5-0 record. The Lasers last season finished 2nd in the Orange Empire Conference, and then followed that with a semifinal berth in the CCCAA State Championships. A solid program every year, head coach David Proffitt knew that entering this game would be a great measuring stick for the program.
The men’s volleyball team continued their impressive start into the 2023 season. The team currently sits at 6-2, with all of their games so far against non-conference opponents. This past week, the Olympians had victories over Moorkpark College and Santa Monica College before falling to and then falling to a tough Santa Barbara City College team on Friday.
The Olympian men’s volleyball team extended its winning streak to four matches on Saturday following a 25-17, 25-17, 25-23 victory over Antelope Valley College and then a 23-25, 25-11, 21-25, 25-23, 21-19 nail biter against Santiago Canyon College.
