Former Mesa student-athlete Savanah Phillips, now Princeton assistant water polo coach, visits students for the upcoming season.

ALUMNI UPDATE
Savanah Phillips is now entering her third season as an assistant coach for the Princeton Tigers women’s water polo team. In 2023, the Tigers captured their conference for the first time since 2015. But before she transitioned her way into coaching, Phillips was a two-time MVP and all-conference for SD Mesa College in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference. After San Diego Mesa College, Phillips transferred to Wittenberg College. 

With the 2023-2024 water polo campaign on the horizon, Phillips spent time at her old stomping grounds and shared her experiences about Mesa as a student-athlete and also her story overcoming adversity and failure. She also shared invaluable insider information on how to prepare and compete at the four-year level.
