Mesa beats Fullerton 9-6 in semi-finals at SoCal

The Mesa College women's water polo team defeated Fullerton 9-6 in the semi-final game of the SoCal Championships to advance to the Championship game. With the game tied at 6 to end the third quarter, Mesa used a dominating defense in the fourth quarter to hold Fullerton scoreless while scoring 3 goals to secure the win. Madi Atkins anchored the defense with 16 saves while Bailey Wickliffe scored 3 to lead Mesa. Cassie Bernas and Jaicey Tyler each scored 2 goals and Analise Voytilla and Lilli Lindgard added one each.

The win moves Mesa into the title game against Riverside and also qualifies Mesa for the State Championship, it's first ever.

Mesa improves to 26-2.
