For the 6th time in the past 7 years, the Mesa Women's Soccer program has captured the PCAC Conference Championship. This year's team secured the title with two game remaining in conference play. Friday's game vs. Southwestern started quickly as Nikki Miranda redirected a Kenya Dantu corner kick into the near post for an early lead at the 13:30 mark. Violet Renard, who leads the state with 32 goals scored, found the net at the 32nd minute with a deft touch over the onrushing goalkeeper to secure the 2-0 lead. The lady Olympians weren't done in the first half as Ari Ravelo outhustled the Jaguar defense on a long assist from GK Sarah Young and the Olympians took a 3-0 lead into halftime. The second half wasn't as clean or sharp but Renard found the net again from a nice assist from Dantu to round out the scoring. The Lady Olympians run their overall record to 17-1-1 and 13-0-1 in conference play. The Olympians next game will be at home vs. Grossmont College, Tuesday night at 7 PM.
