It has been a cold and long winter in San Diego. Despite the song saying 'it never rains in Southern California,' there has been plenty, and for the most part, has delayed the start of the 2023 SD Mesa softball season.
So far in 2023, seven games have been rescheduled which will force the team to play an incredible 18-games in the next five-weeks.

On Tuesday, the Olympians defeated Southwestern College to improve their record to 6-10 and second place in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference with a 2-1 record behind Palomar College who sit at 3-0.

The Olympians struck in the first inning after Carlotta Gonzalez singled to left field bringing in Arianna Salazar and Camren Cabanilla giving the Olympians a 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the third-inning, the Jaguars evened the game at 2-2 after Haley Oceguera singled, bringing in Danika Munoz and Jordyn Beatty. Mesa answered right back in the 4th as the bats once again came alive scoring 4 runs to propel Mesa to a 6-2 lead.

Hannah Anderson continues to lead the team with a .318 batting average. Arianna Salazar with 13 RBI's.

Arianna Izaguirre earned her fourth win of the season having pitched 6 innings, giving up 2 runs and 4 hits. Bailey Oftedahl entered in the 7th inning completing her first save of the season.
