San Diego, CA – It was a perfect day for some Olympians softball. The Olympians took on the Southwestern Jaguars in their second conference win of the season.
The Olympians came out swinging for the fences, with a total of six hits; two homeruns, one double, and three singles. In the bottom of the 1st, the Olympians scored two runs off a throwing error by the Jaguars.
In the bottom of the 4thinning with two runners on, one out, and a 0-2 count, freshman Jessica Venzor came in clutch by hitting a home run over the centerfield fence, making the score 5-0 Mesa.
The Olympians weren't done there, in the bottom of the 5thinning they tacked on two more runs. Sophomore Andrea Wright hit a solo home run and sophomore Kassandra Solis-Corrales singled to score Cassandra Franco.
The Olympians bats weren't the only thing on fire. Freshman Arianna Izaguirre threw her second conference shut out. Izaguirre threw 7 innings, only allowed 6 hits, and had two strikeouts.
Final Score: Olympians 7 – Jaguars 0
The Olympians (12-6) take on Riverside (7-12) Saturday at 12 p.m. at Riverside.
