Sophomore Jyden Schmid has been named both the San Diego Mesa College and the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

Schmid, competing in his second season for the men’s cross country team, led the Olympians to a first place finish at the annual Fresno Invitational in Woodward Park. Schmid led the pack turning in a time of 20:18.71.

The men’s cross country team will be back in action on Saturday, September 23 at the Cougar Challenge, held at CSU San Marcos.
