Ronnie Taylor graduated from Hastings College with a degree in Sports Management and Recreation, with a double minor in Coaching and Personal Fitness. While at Hastings, he became a 5x All-American, 2x National Champion, holds 5 school records, GPAC Conference Long Jump Record. He was also the only athlete in school history to qualify and compete at the Olympic Trials (2012).
 
After graduating, Ronnie began his professional track and field career at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA. Becoming the 2013 USA National Championships Bronze Medalist, 2014 Glasgow 5 Nations International Meet Silver Medalist. He holds a Indoor PR of 7.97m (26'1.75") and Outdoor PR of 8.19m (26'10.5"). 

 

While training and competing at the OTC under the guidance of USATF Lead Coach Jeremy Fischer, Coach Taylor started coaching at Cuyamaca College in 2015 as the Jumps coach. The following year he moved over to Mesa College in 2016 as the High Jump coach. He then took over all Jumping events again in 2018.
