Walnut, CA - The Mesa Men's track & field team finished runner up with 95 points and Madison Rauch won the Pole Vault at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships at Mt. San Antonio College on Friday May 20 and Saturday May 21. This is the most successful performance in program history for the men.
The Mesa Men and Women shined with a combined 3 state champions, 10 All Americans, and 7 more athletes that received medals (some in multiple events). Some notable performances included Jeramiah Havens improving his Decathlon score by 507 points from 5,796 to 6,303 points placing second, Bryce Kueker 9:22.06 and David Millan 9:32.90 finishing 1-2 in the 3000m steeplechase, Moray Steward experiencing breakthrough performances placing third in both the 100m 10.39 and 200m 21.21, Maximillian Pinto's fourth place finish and massive personal best in the 110H 14.50, and Kyle Wood defending is #1 ranking and winning state in the Javelin in 56.12 meters (184'1).
