Alumni News: Jonathan “Pepe” Soto makes professional debut

Entering his first season with the Grizzlies in 2023, Soto, who was drafted 6th overall by the Gateway Grizzlies, makes his professional debut.

  • Entering first season with the Grizzlies in 2023
    - Selected in the first round (6th overall) by the Grizzlies in the 2023 Frontier League Draft, re-signed by the club on May 20, 2023
    - Played three seasons at Rogers State University (NCAA D-II) in Oklahoma, batting .281 with three homers, 10 doubles, and 30 RBIs in 51 games as a senior in 2022, earning Honorable Mention All-Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) honors as well as a Gold Glove award behind the plate
    - Was also Honorable Mention All-MIAA as a junior in 2021, batting .277 with five homers, 10 doubles, and 35 RBIs in 42 games
    - Also played two seasons at San Diego Mesa College (CA)
