Olympians Dominate the City Knights

San Diego Mesa women's soccer (13-4-2 overall, 7-1-1 conference) matched up versus San Diego City (6-12-2, 3-5) under the lights Tuesday for an across town battle.

The Olympian women dominated, holding possession for the first 15 minutes before #21, Amber Reinhart, sunk a 25 yard shot into the back of the net in the 18th minute.

Fast forward to the 31st minute - power forward Ana Sofia Salas (#17) with a near-post cross to hungry #14 Natasha Camacho-Bier, central mid-field, scoring off of a flying header.

The Olympians welcomed a 2-0 lead at half-time.

Opening the second half, and the flood gates, three back-to-back goals followed in the 48th, 51st and 52nd minutes. Olympians' leading goal scorers Ana Sofia Salas and Madison Cosgrove celebrated the now 5-0 lead over the Knights.

Madison Cosgrove leads the Olympians with 10 goals this season, with Ana Sofia Salas not far behind with 9.

The Olympians continued to connect and find opportunities past the 5-0 lead.

Marissa Stafford, Olympian #12, pushed through for an incredible finish off a corner in the 86th minute, assisted from Natalie Polan #18 who further polished a penalty kick for the 7th and final goal for the Olympians.

The Olympians gear up Friday, November 10th, for their final conference contest versus Imperial Valley College (0-17-2 overall, 0-7-2 conference).
