Mesa's Jake Roth 2nd in State for 3M Diving

Mesa diver Jake Roth rose to the occasion to beat out a pool of 22 divers to take the #2 spot in the State last weekend.  Prior to the State Meet, Roth has been out performing all the other divers and hasn't placed lower than 2nd in all the dive meets.

Roth competed in the Chaffey Invitational where he took the top spot in the 1M diving event with 248.5 points and then took 2nd in the 3M with 230.6 points.  Then in the conference finals, he was dominate taking first place in the 1M and the 3M to take home the PCAC Champion crown for Mesa.  There he scored 262.5 points in the 3M and then scored 238.15 in the 1M.

Then at the State Championships, the Westview High graduate surmounted the tension and nervousness and performed one solid dive after another to earn 252 points which was just enough to pass the other divers and move him into 2nd place for the State leaderboard.
