Talib Mahdi was born and raised in San Diego, CA. He graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. As Talib pursued a career in Engineering, his passion for coaching basketball and mentoring young adults remained strong. 

Talib's coaching career began over 20 years ago, wanting to give back and make a difference in young adults. His coaching career began at his neighborhood recreation center and then Amateur Athletic Union travel basketball. In 2008 he joined the Morse High School boys basketball program helping lead them to three league championships, two San Diego Section CIF Finals and the champions of the 2014 San Diego Section CIF.

Talib aims to be a motivational force in his players lives helping to guide them to success in all forms. Through basketball he strives to create and foster life skills in his players that they will use far beyond their collegiate career.
