Mesa Standout Novian Cherry goes D1 with Savannah State University

July 16, 2015 - The D1 Savannah State University will be adding a Mesa alumni to their 2015-16 roster.  Mesa's Novian Cherry will be joing the Tigers this Fall as they are looking to add to their young roster.  Savannah State will be competiting in the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) against colleges like Morgan State,  Delaware State, and others.  In non-conference play, Cherry and his teammates will be facing other big D1 schools like LSU, Kansas State, Indiana University and University of Miami.

During his freshman year with the Olympians, Cherry led in almost every category including points per game with 21.9, free throws per game with 6.7-8.6, and 3 points per game with 1.2-5.6.  Then as a Sophomore, he again led the team in points per game with 17.5, minutes per game with 11.5, and 3 points per game with 2.6.
