Former Olympian Haupt Named West Coast Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Junior catcher Dillon Haupt of the 35th-ranked University of San Diego baseball team has been named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday morning.

Haupt, a 6-5 junior from San Diego, helped catapult USD to a 4-1 record this past week as he paced the offense with an impressive .368 batting average (7-for-19), while recording a pair of doubles, two home runs and a team-leading 10 RBI. He was slugging at a .789 clip, and had an on base percentage of .409. In the first game this past week, Haupt went 4-for-6 with a double, a home run and four RBI. In Sunday's win over Vanderbilt, he led the team's offense going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.

Myles Dempsey leads all Chico State regulars and ranks 10th in the CCAA with a .372 batting average.
