San Bernardino Valley College soccer player Andrew Quiroz and San Diego Mesa football player Spencer Moyer are the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Men's Athletes of the Week for Oct. 15-22.

Quiroz, a freshman midfielder from Chaparral High School in Temecula, scored two goals, including his second game-winner of the season, and an assisted on another goal in the Wolverines' 4-2 win over Southwestern, which moved them past the Jaguars into undisputed first place in the PCAC.

The 5-foot-5 Quiroz has been a force in the midfield for SBVC all season.

Moyer, Mesa's 6-foot-4, 215-pound sophomore quarterback out of West Hills High School and a transfer from Grossmont College, led the Olympians to their sixth win of the season which keeps them tied for first place in the American Division Mountain Conference as they held off Victor Valley 28-23.

Moyer connected on 22 of 32 passes for 223 yards and three touchdowns against the Rams in the game at Mesa's Merrill Douglas Stadium.

HONORABLE MENTION

Joshua Benitez (Palomar Water Polo), a sophomore utility player from Murrieta Valley High School, scored four goals and also had three assists and two steals as the Comets knocked off traditional conference and state power San Diego Mesa 18-10.

Shaquez Bond (Southwestern Football), a 6-foot-0, 195-pound freshman converted receiver from MacArthur High School in Decatur, Illinois, intercepted three passes to lead the Jaguars to a 17-7 win over Mt. San Jacinto.

Kerrion Ringo (College of the Desert Football), a 6-foot-1, 185-pound freshman wide receiver out of Reitz High School in Evansville, Indiana, caught 11 passes from quarterback Noah Sherman for 213 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-33 rivalry loss to San Bernardino Valley. The TD catches went for 14 and 21 yards.

Nels Haltom (Grossmont Football), a 5-foot-10, 180-pound sophomore kicker from Bountiful High School in Bountiful, Utah, split the uprights on field goals of 52, 23 and 32 yards to lift the Griffins to a 37-35 win on the road over Orange Coast.

Gustavo Medina (College of the Desert Soccer), scored a goal and two assists in the Roadrunners' 4-3 upset win over Southwestern. COD also defeated San Diego City College 4-2 to take over third place in the conference.
