The Olympian football squad kicked off Homecoming this week 3-0, undeafeated against El Camino Compton College (35-0), Grossmont College (32-7) and Antelope Valley College (24-7).

The Olympians are scheduled to oppose East Los Angeles College at this Saturday's Homecoming game, September 23rd at 6:00 p.m.

Moving into the Homecoming game, SD Mesa football is leading the state in 5 defensive statistical categories. These include points (4.7), yards (172), rushing yards (-8.3) and fumble recoveries (11) per game.

Honorary captain for this weekend's Homecoming game is the Black Studies Department Chair at SD Mesa, Thekima Mayasa. The honorary captain will walk out with the Olympian football team Saturday night, and assist the team captains in the game's coin toss.

Friends and families of the San Diego community are invited to join SD Mesa in the Homecoming football game this Saturday, September 23rd at 6:00 p.m vs East Los Angeles College. Prior to the game, from 4:00-6:00 p.m., the Olympians are holding a tailgate party with free food, games and t-shirts.
