Mesa beat Miramar in the semi-final game of the PCAC tournament, 12-3 before beating Grossmont, 6-3 in the championship game to finish with a perfect 10-0 conference record and their tenth title.
In the Miramar game Lilli Lindgard led all scorers with 3 goals. Ellie Williams, Emily Helton, Abby Johnson and Bailey Wickliffe each had 2 goals, while Jaicey Tyler scored one goal. Analise Voytilla, Abby Johnson, Cassie Bernas and Jaicey Tyler each had 2 assists. Madi Atkins recorded 10 saves, 1 assist and 3 steals.
The championship game turned out to be a defensive struggle early as Mesa was unable to score in the first quarter and Grossmont led 1-0. The half ended at 1-1 before Mesa started to get in gear and opened a 4-1 lead in the third before ending it at 6-3. Madi Atkins again held the defense together with 14 saves, contributed 1 assist and 4 steals. Cassie Bernas led all scorers with 3 goals while Analise Voytilla, Ellie Williams and Bailey Wickliffe each scored one goal.
Mesa's 24-2 overall record is the best in the State.
