Women's Water Polo Advances to Regionals

Nov. 13, 2014 - The Mesa Women's Water Polo team will be traveling to Citrus College to compete in their 11th SoCal Regional tournament appearance.  As one of only 10 teams to qualify, the Olympians are seeded as the #4 team in Southern California marking the highest ranking in the program's history.

The team has had more than it's share of success this season.  Heading into the conference championship, Mesa was 7-1 in conference play; losing only once to Grossmont a week before the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference championhips.  Overall, the blue and gold was 17-7 heading into the PCAC finals with some big wins over Mt. San Antonio, Ventura and Cerritos.

Now, Mesa is 18-8 overall and will be facing off with Chaffey College (23-8), the #5 seed.  The Olympians are no stranger to Chaffey.  The two teams have faced off twice this season with Mesa topping the Panthers both times in a 7-4 and a closer 8-7 match.
