Cosgrove named to United Soccer Coaches Women's Scholar All-America Team

San Diego Mesa College sophomore forward Madison Cosgrove has been named on the 2018 United Soccer Coaches Junior College Women’s Scholar All-America Team.

While competing for two years for the Olympians, Cosgrove maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout her career.

“Madison displays all the qualities you could ask for in a student-athlete,” states head coach Todd Curran. “She embodies this award and her academic prowess is unmatched. She was our inspiration for two years and has always been the hardest worker on and off the field. She is a coach’s dream where you never have to question her level of commitment.”

A two-year starter for the Olympians, Cosgrove helped guide the women’s soccer team to back-to-back Southern California Regional playoff berths, including the conference championship her freshman year.

As a freshman, she was tied for the team lead with 11 goals and 4 assists. During her sophomore year, in which she was named 1stteam all-conference, she was second on the team with 8 goals and 2 assists.

In addition to this award, Cosgrove was also honored by the California Community College Coaches Association in 2018 as a 1st Team All Scholar Athlete.

A business marketing major, Cosgrove has been accepted to San Diego State University, University of San Diego, University of Southern California, and Chapman University.
