The San Diego Mesa College women’s basketball team has taken gigantic strides under head coach Lindsay Samaniego. On Wednesday, the Olympians took one of their most impressive one yet.
The San Diego Mesa College women’s basketball team made an impressive showing behind a quartet of freshmen on Friday night, defeating Cerritos College 61-34, extending their win streak to three.
The San Diego Mesa College women’s basketball team defeated Porterville College 72-55 on Thursday bringing the Olympians overall record to 4-3. This marks the third consecutive win for the Olympians after defeating Chaffey College 72-37 followed by a strong 62-56 victory against Cypress College.
After dropping the season opener to Fullerton College 77-72, the Olympians got back on the winning track by upending Saddleback College 68-53 on Thursday night at the Grossmont Crossover.
Sophomores Niki Madgedi, Emma Fitzgerald, and Gwen Morris- Lundstrom have been named on the 2022-23 Pacific Coast Athletic All-Conference Team. All-conference members are voted on by all men’s basketball coaches in the conference.
Mesa College women’s basketball hosted their first home playoff game in eleven years on Wednesday. Despite dropping the game 44-46 to Pasadena City College, the season was a success for the program which will have plenty of momentum going into the 2023-24 campaign.

The San Diego Mesa College women’s basketball team finished 2-1 at the Santa Ana College Tournament placing 3rd after defeating Santa Ana College 65-43 on Saturday. After losing to Riverside College on Friday, where the Olympians were out-rebounded 30-59, the coaching staff emphasized the need to secure rebounds and make better decisions with the ball.
The San Diego Mesa College women’s basketball team currently sits at .500 with a 3-3 record. They are currently in 5th place in the PCAC chasing Palomar College who is currently undefeated early in the 2022 campaign. Although it’s still early, the coaching staff knows the team needs to fix the unforced errors which are causing valuable games.
Sophomore Niki Madgedi fell short of one rebound from a double-double finishing with 12 points, 6 assists, and 9 rebounds during a 65-56 win against Santa Monica College. Coming off the bench, freshman Bella Terry contributed with 8 points and 7 rebounds.
After an impressive 54-32 season opener victory against Fullerton College, the San Diego Mesa women’s basketball team fell to Orange Coast College 42-54 evening their record at 1-1.

San Diego, CA – On Friday night, the Lady Olympians took on Cuyamaca at home. It was a big night for our Lady Olympians, with everyone scoring, 21 assists on 32 FG’s. The Lady Olympians ended up beating Cuyamaca 85 to 31.
