The Mesa men's water polo team capped their perfect regular season conference run (5-0 PCAC) by routing visiting Grossmont in a 17-2 win. The Olympians punished visiting Grossmont defensively through the game, shutting out the Griffins season leading scorer Emiliano Castro, and holding the visitors scoreless in the first and third quarters. Roman Rosser poured in 6 goals and 10 different Mesa players scored on the afternoon. Trey Pietsch walled off the goal with 14 saves including a 5 meter penalty stuff. The win places Mesa as the #1 seed heading into the PCAC Tournament to be held at Southwestern College November 8-9.

"We have been defensive minded in practice over the last week and focused on shoring up our one-on-one deficiances. Our squad was prepared for the task at hand and executed our game plan today perfectly," Head coach Nathan Resch notes. "This performance really gives us great momentum heading into this Friday at Mt. SAC and into our conference championship tournament."
