Aquatic Olympians Sweep the Weekend

Marco Roy's 16 goals along with Cameron Woldt's (pictured) 28 saves paced Men's men's water polo to a pair of wins over Ventura and El Camino College at the LA Trade Tech mini tournament over the weekend.

Against Ventura, Roy blasted out 4 straight goals in the first to open up a 5-1 advantage. After extending 6-1, the defense went south to San Diego while Ventura went on a 10-3 tear and went up by two after 3 quarters. The defense and offense settled back in to finish out a 5-1 quarter, led by three Dakota Salas Rogalski goals, as Mesa finished ahead with a 14-12 final score.

Every Olympian played minutes in the final contest against El Camino, in which Grant Crawford tallied his first goal and assist of the season.

Mesa travels to north to Merced Thursday, 9/6 and to the South San Francisco Bay area 9/7-9/8 for the Nyquist tournament at West Valley and De Anza colleges.
