The San Diego Mesa College men's and women's track and field team travelled to Los Angeles on Saturday to compete at the Occidental Distance Classic. With three meets in the book, and as expected by the coaching staff, the results being turned in are improving.

Similar to the Cal State Los Angeles Invite, the Olympians competed against quality community college programs along with four-year universities such Cal Poly Pomona, Occidental College, and Santa Clara University.  Unlike the two previous meets, the weather was ideal and it provided the Olympians the opportunity to apply what the coaches have been teaching.

"With all the hard work we've been putting in, results are starting to show," states head coach Sean Ricketts. "As long as we trust the process and follow the plan, we'll be in good shape leading up to the championship rounds."
