Mesa's Palmese to Swim Catalina Channel for Charity

Mesa's Palmese to Swim Catalina Channel for Charity

Robert Palmese, a Mesa sophomore, 2015 PCAC swimming champion in the Mile, and All-America athlete, will swim the Catalina Channel in memory of Emily Nichols, who lived the entirety of her 21 years in a fierce battle with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). His journey will start at 8pm on 7/22 with a 3 hour boat ride to Catalina Island, and end after another 12-15 hours and 20 miles of swimming when he steps on the shores of Long Beach, CA.

The swim will also help raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, who's mission is to find a cure for all people with cystic fibrosis.
