Men’s soccer blanks Southwestern College 4-0

Prior to Tuesday's game against Southwestern College, the men's soccer team had lost its first three games in October against conference opponents. The team fell to MiraCosta, SD City College, and Cuyamaca College. 

Southwestern on the other hand was riding a wave of success. They tied 1-1 against Palomar College, defeated SD City College 3-2, blanked MiraCosta College 2-0, and dominated Imperial Valley College 6-1.  

If games were played on paper the Olympians have no business being on the same field with the Jaguars. However, games are played on the field.

With tremendous play from goalkeeper Ty Aumann, the Olympians shuout Southwestern College 4-0.

Matthew Guthrie gave the Olympians the lead in the 30th minute with an assist from Kian Meyer.

Kian Meyer had a great day socring two goals and one assist. Meyer's first goal came in the 60th minute and the other in the 70th minute (assists from Kyle Hunter and Ty Aumann) padding the lead to 3-0. The team added a fourth goal in the 88th minute from Marco Arambula putting the game out of reach. 

Conference play continues on Friday, October 18 when Mesa host Palomar College. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
