Head Coach Gary Watkins is heading into this 2021 season after the best "off-season" local recruiting in our programs history, with just over 60 local San Diego players committing. After this unprecedented pandemic and the lock-downs that followed, he and his staff are fired up to get back on the field with all of this local talent.
Congratulations to former Olympian linebacker Eric Munoz! Eric transferred from San Diego Mesa College to Utah State university, played for 2 seasons and graduated this December with his degree and one year of athletic eligibility left to play. Eric entered the NCAA Transfer Portal as a Graduate Transfer looking for another opportunity to compete. FBS, BIG XII Kansas State offered Eric and he accepted. We are proud of this young man and excited to see him play this coming season.

We are extremely proud of these young men and looking forward to helping even more young student athletes make the most of their time here with us.
Head coach Gary Watkins and his staff have proven their commitment to players' academic success with over half of the football roster earning a 3.0 GPA or higher. Coach Watkins elevated the expectations for his players' academics. His players bought in and committed to the expectation and all during lock down, with on-line learning. Four former Olympian players accepted their scholarship offers to first year D1- Tarleton State University. All four played this past Sunday and contributed to Tarleton State's first victory at the D1 level. Tarleton dominated their upper level opponent, FBS - New Mexico State University 43-17. Coach Watkins is proud to see his former players making the most of their opportunities and having success at the next level.
