The PCAC baseball season wrapped up last week with both Southwestern College and San Diego Mesa College finishing in a tie for first place. The two teams also earned a playoff berth on Sunday.
Jacob began the week for the Olympians with an outstanding effort on the mound. He threw 6 innings giving up just 5 hits, 0 walks, striking out 4 and leading him to his 6th win.
Jonathon had an outstanding week, leading the Olympians to a 3 game sweep of their opponent. He started all three games (2 at catcher, 1 at 3B) leading the offensive charge.
The 2019 PCAC baseball crown will be decided in the next couple of days. With six games remaining in the regular season, San Diego Mesa College (15-3) holds a slight lead over Southwestern College (16-5).
Braeden was called upon twice in the 9th inning this week to shut the door for the Olympians. His efforts helped lead to the first two wins (of three) during a week that the Olympians had to sweep their opponent.
After an important series win against Mt. San Jacinto College to close out March, the San Diego Mesa College baseball team continue to add to their conference victories by sweeping San Bernardino Valley College.
For their outstanding play during the week of April 1, the following Olympians were honored as players of the week by the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association.
The accolades continue to roll in for the San Diego Mesa College baseball program.
In the month of February, the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association (CCCBCA) honored three Olympians as Southern California Players of the Week.
The Pacific Coast Athletic Conference started conference play in baseball last week and some of the squads have gotten off to a quick start. San Diego Mesa College and Southwestern College are both 4-0 after mixed results during the pre-conference schedule.
With all the nominations in, the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference has chosen its athletes-of-the-month for January. Athletes from San Diego City College, San Bernardino Valley College, MiraCosta College and Grossmont College headline the group.
