The San Diego Mesa College women’s beach volleyball team (11-6, 4-0 PCAC) earned two victories on Friday by defeating Mira Costa College 3-2 and San Diego City College 3-2.
“The players played their hearts out today,” states head coach Kim Lester. “Close games like today will not only help us down the road, but also give our players experience how to handle pressure and close out tight matches.”
The play of both Tori Hutton and Ciera Rens at the number five slot has been a pleasant surprise for the coaching staff. The duo went undefeated on Friday without dropping a set. Not to be outdone, Raven Casas teamed with Alina Snyder and Macey Schonbachler alongside Taylor Rosario also went 2-0.
Grossmont College (4-0) and San Diego Mesa College (4-0) are undefeated in the conference. Both teams are headed for a collision course on Friday, April 5th at Mesa College which could be a preview for the 2019 conference title.
