Olympians' Toledo and Vallo

PACIFIC COAST ATHLETIC CONFERENCE / OCT. 16, 2017

HONORABLE MENTION

Shyla Toledo (San Diego Mesa Water Polo), a freshman who scored 85 goals with 14 assists and 55 steals for Mar Vista High School last season as a senior, led the Olympians to a 14-12 victory over Grossmont with six goals, two assists and a steal. Four of Toledo's goals were unassisted and two others came on assists from Lauren Mathews. So far during the 2017 season, Toledo has 21 goals, 13 assists and 15 steals for the PCAC conference leaders.

Logan Vallo, San Diego Mesa Football), a 6-foot-0, 200-pound running back from Yucca Valley High School, rushed for 145 yards and touchdowns of 12 yards, 1 yard and 3 yards to lift the Olympians to a 41-38 win over San Bernardino Valley in the teams' Mountain Conference opener. Vallo has been one reason the Olympians are 5-1 on the season and top-ranked in Southern California in the non-playoff-eligible American Division. Mesa became bowl eligible with the win.
